It’s still the best-selling sedan, but two crossovers, the Honda CR-V and Toyota’s own RAV4, have overtaken it in the market. You may imagine that Toyota would give less attention to its previous sales star if sedan sales were declining and crossover sales were on the rise. However, in its eighth generation, the Camry has never been better. People tend to forget about crossovers, so what can you do to change that? Try to make a better Camry. There is now a V6-powered Camry available with more than 300 hp. Try to take it all in. There were V8 American muscle cars making this much power not too long ago. All-wheel drive for cold-weather driving and a sporty new TRD model have been added to Toyota’s lineup. Despite all of these adjustments, can they prevent sedans from going out of style?
2023 Toyota Camry Redesign
This year’s 2023 Toyota Camry has a lot of sharp edges and stand-out features, and it succeeds in getting people’s attention. While the old-school Camry was a beige vehicle, the newer model is a far cry from its predecessor. In addition to the gloss black rear spoiler, front splitter, and rear diffuser, the TRD’s aerodynamic body kit includes cat-back dual exhausts with chrome tips. The exterior accents of the SE Nightshade Edition are likewise blackened out. All Camry models come standard with LED headlights and taillights, with the former also featuring daytime running lights. Sedans in the LE and XLE trim levels come standard with 17-inch wheels, while the SE and XLE receive 18-inch rims. The XSE and TRD both get 19-inch wheels. Both a tilting and sliding motorized moonroof, as well as a panoramic sunroof, are available as options for LE and SE grades.
This year’s 2023 Toyota Camry features a sleek and funky interior, but the difference in materials between the base model and higher-end models is rather apparent. There are a lot of harsh plastics used in the lower trim levels, but the technology components are well put together. Soft-touch materials and leather upholstery are standard on higher-end trims like the XSE. Our favorite cabins are found in luxury models, but there’s potential for improvement in the lower-end vehicles. While the base model’s features are adequate, the higher-end models are loaded with the most up-to-date technology and convenience options. Ingress and egress are fine, but larger passengers in the back may have to hunch over a little more than normal because of the sloping roofline.
In the case of the 2023 Toyota Camry, there are two powertrains to choose from. Engine power and torque ratings are slightly different across the LE, SE, and XLE versions because of the different powertrain options. AWD-equipped LE and SE variants are capable of producing up to 203 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. The XSE operates on the same principles as the PC, but the numbers differ somewhat from those of the PC. When driving in FWD mode, the XSE’s power output is 206 horsepower and 186 lb-feet of torque. It has 205 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque when in AWD mode. If you’re looking for something that’s more powerful than the Honda Accord’s 192 hp and the Mazda 6’s 181 lb-ft of torque, this is the best option for you. The Camry’s 3.5-liter V6 produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, which is a major improvement over the Camry’s previous 2.4-liter V6.
2023 Toyota Camry Release Date and Price
Prices for the 2023 Toyota Camry increase only slightly between cheaper variants, but expect to pay more if you’re shopping for a more luxurious model. The LE’s starting price is $25,295, and adding all-wheel drive (AWD) costs an additional $1,400. The SE Nightshade Edition costs $27,535, while the standard SE model costs $26,835. Prices for the XLE have gone up to $30,045. The XSE starts at $30,595 and the TRD starts at $32,360, so you’ll have to choose between the two. It costs $35,170 for an XLE with the V6 engine and $35,720 for the top-of-the-range XSE V6. The $1,025 destination fee is not included in any of the rates.
